As this study shows, wealthy school districts were also campaign cash cows. They accounted for a disproportionately high percentage of total campaign contributions in the 2001-2002 campaign cycle. Though only slightly over one-tenth of Texas students attend school in wealthy districts, contributors in those districts gave close to 30% of all campaign contributions for the 2002 elections.
