Business is booming for oil and gas interests in Colorado. In 2002, it is estimated that oil and gas companies in Colorado will extract a record $2 billion worth of oil and gas out of the ground. These record profits may be due, at least in part, to contributions oil and gas interests have made to state elected officials and to the favorable treatment oil and gas interests have received from state regulators, lawmakers and the Governor.
